European Forum LOGOSSD
The European Forum "Local Governance and Sectorial Social Dialogue" (LOGOSSD) is an integral feature of the Forum for a Responsible Globalisation. It offers an innovative approach to promoting and developing sectorial social dialogue among local actors, in conjunction with social dialogue at the European level in various sectors of activity.
By uniting the economic approach (sectorial and multisectorial) with the local approach (cities and governance), the Forum aims to set the stage for a new bottom-up process for guiding major economic and social issues.
The European Forum LOGOSSD was created with the support of the European Commission - DG Employment and Social Affairs. 150 representatives of the social partners (employers and trade unions) of 25 member countries of the European Union and three acceding countries (Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia), in association with mayors of large European cities, will gather during the Forum to discuss the theme of "Local Governance and Sectoral Social Dialogue."
The aims of LOGOSSD are:
- Foster the integration of social dialogue in urban governance
- Elicit initiatives bringing together social partners and local authorities to work together on economic changes
- Develop the sharing of experiences among social partners and European cities
- Develop exchanges among social partners and European cities and other regions of the world
In parallel with the strong commitment of the European Commission, several European partners have joined efforts with the Forum:
- The European Commission
- Employer organisations: European Association of Craft, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (UEAPME), European Centre of Enterprises with Public Participation (CEEP). UNICE will provide its support and expertise.
- Trade unions, through the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC)
- The cities of Lyon, Birmingham, Barcelone and Francfort, as well as the Eurocites network of European cities, and the European Association for Territorial Excellence (EUREXTER).
- You belong to an employer or trade union organisation, located in one of the 25 member countries of the European Union and one of the three acceding countries (Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia)
- You are an elected official or representative of a local authority
You may join in the work of the European Forum by contacting the organisers.
